Man promoting kids' camping trips accidentally shows parents child porn

MEXICO CITY — Prosecutors in western Mexico said Monday they have arrested a man who was promoting children's camping trips in front of a group of parents, but accidentally called up images of child pornography on his computer.

Federal prosecutors in Jalisco state said the man was using his computer to pitch his company's guided children's camping trips to a group of parents at a private school in the upscale suburb of Zapopan, on the outskirts of Guadalajara.

But instead of the presentation, videos of naked children popped up, apparently because the man opened the wrong file.

Teachers and parents immediately stopped the Sept. 8 presentation and reported him to police, who arrested the man outside the school.

His computer, a tablet, a thumb drive and a cellphone were seized as evidence.

The man has been formally charged with human trafficking, a charge that covers child porn in Mexico, and is being held at a local prison.

The federal officials did not release his name. A statement posted on the school's website identified the man's company as ACAMPA, and said the school had never contracted the company's services.

Phone numbers listed for the company rang unanswered on Monday.

I had to laugh at this one. How stupid must you be to get CP mixed up with work files? Even if you're using the same computer, why would you put the two things together in one folder? How can you open [R@ygold][Vicky][MG][2013]8yo BJ cumshot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.mpg instead of Niño Presentación Cabañas.avi?

As sad as I feel for one of us being caught, there are times when human stupidity makes it almost guaranteed to happen.

I kinda had to laugh too.  Why would he think having such materials in the same folder as your other documents was a smart thing to do?  Common sense was lost that day.

Sort of hilarious.  I wonder what the video was, though?  I sort of hope that it was homemade material of the kids posing by cabins, in the throes of sex.  Perhaps for his other presentation, "Pedo Camp 2015".

That guy will be face palming for the rest of his days, and I feel sorry for him, but that is yet another reason to go and read the Rules of Spycraft. He should never had had unencrypted CP on his laptop, and really shouldn't even have encrypted CP on his laptop.

Given how almost unbelievably stupid it was there is a little part of me that wonders if he actually wanted to be caught in some way, or if he got off on the idea of showing a bit of CP off to someone and hadn't fully considered the consequences due to some kind of a mental issue.

I don't think this would have been an act of exhibitionism - getting off on showing people CP - but purely one we can put down to good old reliable human stupidity and carelessness. I was thinking about this case yesterday at work, and still cannot understand how he could have done it without doing several stupid things.

I used to have CP and family pictures in the same folder   

I have a computer account where I keep pictures and the other one is for school work only, it's smart to keep boths separate.

I also have non-nude pictures and if anyone ever asks me who are those girls in the pictures I'll say they're my cousins.

Or maybe I'm saying that just to make an excuse for myself: because a similar, if much, much less serious thing happened to me a couple of months ago: my computer just briefly took over and revealed something I'd have rather have not had revealed, to someone I'd have rather not have had it revealed to (if that last sentence actually makes any sense...)
