And I Love Her

Exactly what is says. What random thing have you become obsessed with for no particular reason?

Today, I've become very obsessed with Irish independence songs. Here's an example. (Warning: Clearnet)

Also pretty adult girls!!!! lol
Some of us just weren't meant for the so called "normal" we see far beyond what is forced upon us as "their" idea of living. We live within our own hearts and minds.

I have been obsessed with posting on PSC. I really need to scale it back, but it's an endless source of discussion. 13 years of opinions that I need to respond to. Usually I just get obsessed with programming on topic apps for myself, but PSC seems to have replaced that. I try not to repeat myself, but there is always a new angle to explore. I figured I would stop once I have said everything, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. Ahh, obsessions. Endless rabbit holes.

Anything that keeps me mindless because an obsession lol. I need to be more mindful - I get easily distracted.

Given your story I was surprised it wasn't your best friend's daughter :)

True, that has happened in the past. But my best friends are in my same age peer group. So the daughters while eminently doable in general, are far from childhood. And in one bizarre random statistical anomaly, with one exception all grandchildren are males. The one exception I am not very close to that family and daughter. But she definitely caught my eye for a few years when she was growing up. But no stories there, just eye candy. I have only seen the granddaughter a couple times when she was under five, out of my interest. But some quick math, she would be nine now?

Hum.

Building websites.

I just happen to own a bunch of domains for no reason and am in the process of giving some of them a site. Self-hosting o/c since there's a little server living in my basement - which only just now reminded me that I need to finish my guide on running Tor nodes :think

:P
And I was alone yet not lonely because in my heart there was the energy of that one girl who means more to me than any human being ever did before.

Very relatable. I myself stopped collecting domains because it feels like creating a backlog of projects that I will never get to. It's both stressful and you have to pay a subscription for that stress. Although, I feel a bit different now. I wouldn't mind quickly putting something up using vibe coding. I like that it doesn't feel like I have to do everything alone, which really helps with the motivation and endurance. It's definitely a lot of fun to explore new skills. It's awesome that you are able to give back to the world. :party

So is the universe punishing you for all your past adventures? Like its saying  "you had enough of this little girls, now have a taste of the other side :)

Auto restoration videos. Especially old barn finds where they strip it down to the frame and start from scratch. Sand blasting, welding,  painting, mechanical rebuilds, the whole enchilada.

I watched one yesterday where they pulled a car out of a river that had been there for years and fully restored it.

Hoeffler can probably relate.

Yes! Car rebuilds are incredibly satisfying! :yes

I still have an old shitbox from the early 90s sitting around, waiting to be fully restored. A glorious wagon from the golden age of boxy Volvo redblocks. It's rusty, needs a new head gasket, a new distributor, numerous wires broke, speed sensor is fucked, odometer broken, tail lights are cracked, it loves getting stuck in reverse, there are dents and scratches all over the place, the sun roof is leaking and so on and so forth. It'll cost a fortune to restore it but man do I love that car.

It was literally the cheapest 945 I could find, some 350 kilometers away from home. And although I could have trailer-hauled it I just went and drove it home - boy, I say boy, that was quite the trip. But despite all the broken stuff it still drives like a dream.

It all comes together when you finish the mechanical stuff and bodywork and lay down that first coat of paint. I'm not a fan of the new rustic patina trend.

Silly me, I didn't even bothered to ask why she's your most recent obsession.

Has all the elements I like in adult women, especially her personality. I have known her for a long, long time. A couple times I probably could have been the other man, but I have never actually done that to a friend. Not true for daughters, go figure.

Physically she is gorgeous. Men crawl all over her, figuratively, and a few times in her younger days literally. As far as I know, she has been a good girl for many recent years, really decades. Lets say despite her early indiscretions, he husband kept her around in those early days because he stood zero chance of ever having anyone like her ever again. She is actually very sweet and loving and most importantly interesting, by all appearances a perfect wife in and out of bed, according to him. But for those early years. I don't know what she see's in me, I am really quite average in the looks department. But she has been very flirty recently, so that triggers very specific responses in me :)
