Where did you first find CP?

Wow, this thread is such a trip down memory lane. So many things I haven't thought about in forever.

Yeah, I remember the dial up days in the 90s. I never encountered CP, but I remember looking for regular porn, which was such a disappointment, mostly because I didn't know what I was doing. All I could find was rape and donkey porn. It took forever, and it tied up your phone line. I just wanted something tame, but could never find it. Then 2000 comes along, and I get DSL, which was such a game changer. So of course, you want to build a music library, I remember using several like limewire and kazaa. And as others mentioned, you just get porn mixed in with it, and so I believe this was my first CP. Either that or those click bait ads others have talked about. I'd build a stash, get scared or guilty and then delete it all. I am so curious what I found back then. I don't remember any of the content, other than I never encounter any where the child actually enjoyed what was happening, so that turned me off. In the late 2000s I tried looking again, but over VPN on bittorrent, but all the good stuff was blocked for VPN traffic. I assumed it was all LEA. I did get a great stash of nudist documentaries that way though.

Had I known about all these resources others are talking about, things would have been much different. I never went to 4chan, but I would have had I known there was CP. I'd always hear about how 4chan is an example of the complete garbage you get without any moderation. In my head I always thought it was just loaded with spammers and flamers, so I never looked. All the different social media and usenet just sounded too social to me, and I was always anti-social. Instead, I spent a lot of time on the site Child Super Models. Lots of provocative swimsuit pictures, which was more my speed anyway. I was so sad when they got arrested for messing with the models. I also loved to read stories, or go find cartoons, which is mostly what I have done ever since. I was using Tor in 2010, buying drugs off of silk road, but had no idea how to get anywhere from there.

I totally agree with the comment that it is hard to find if you go looking for it, but everywhere when you don't. Of course, once you stumble across it, it becomes very easy to see where it is all hanging out. It just takes finding that first thread, and then you keep pulling and pulling. But I've always known how easy it is to get caught, and that has kept me away, as well as the fact that I was never hanging out in the right places. Now, I think I would rather have my favorite CG artists. I particularly love comics. All the clearnet sources I was using have all been shut down. And now I feel like I am back in the 90s, where I can't find the tamer things I want but it sure is easy to find hurtcore.   Everything I can find is just a tiny subset of the 1.5 TB art stash I already have. I guess I can weather this for a while. I might end up just training AI with my favorite content to make more of exactly what I want. I guess I can't be too upset.

I am new here, but i do have a long story with it. It was ten years ago, in Topic Links (I don't remember if it was the original or the 2.0). From that point on, i saw many Sharing Communities being born and died. Can't remember my first community, i saw Rindexxx, Amorzinho, BoyVids grow and die. Still very recent to majority of people here, but i do see myself with experience.

It was actually because of CP that i learned about Linux, then OpSec.

I think my first was finding nudes of kids on old bulletin boards and usenet back in the day, and that led me to finding more and looking for more and... yeah.

i first found it on clearnet, its crazy what some search engines back then were indexing.
then later on kazaa, emule, limewire

Someone sent me a clip(by surprise) over the clearnet. I deleted it quickly and got very pissed at him.

It was by accident I was managing multiple regular porn groups (so 18+) on an app and someone just sent CP stuff on it. Because it was a lot of members you had a lot of vids every second so I didn't realize it and as I forwarded content on other groups someone noticed it and I was like "no way I can't believe it it's illegal it's not possible to find those on cleanet that easy". I was chocked but strongly excited and since then I tried to get more of these content which leads me to tor.

And yup I realized ppl do share CP pretty openly without a care on clearnet either on discord or snap or tiktok and till today I don't understand how ppl could be this carefree about doing something that illegal this way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :

well mine was like a lot of others, accidentally stumbling on it on clearnet in the 90s while looking for keywords girl naked and my age at the time. ended up on 'artistic websites' with nudes, that ended up going down the rabbit hole. then it was onto kazaa, limewire, emule.
