Booting Tails from a CD and never ever saving anything permanently (even not in an encrypted container) is probably the second safest way of observing on topic material. The safest way is to not observe on topic material to begin with.

Yes, that's what it looks like to me too-someone thinks they're ok because they use TC etc but don't use it right, or enough, and expose themselves.  It sure seems like the peopel who get caught are the people who aren't being careful enough, or smart enough, or just don't know how to protect themselves.  Really pays off to learn what to do here.

Another safe way is to lock the porn comp in a vault, with a remote self-destruct button if anything ever happens.

While this is undoubtedly good news for tails users, I think the key piece of information is that LEA were able to identify him in the first place.
