Would you come to an Asian country if the Age of consent is abolished?

The West has done more harm to the Youth Liberation than it has contributed to.
If tomorrow the Age of consent is abolished in any Asian country and you're free to love any kid irrespective of his/her/their age. Would you go there?
Ta'i Ne'od Bi-l-Fay. Mesh La-Hada Ha-l-Fay.
Hebbeeni W-Fakri Shwy.
Come, Let's sit in the shade. This shade is no one's property.
Love me. And ponder for a bit.

Definitely going to depend on the country.  Not like I'm going to rush to North Korea if they get rid of any AoC.
If I'm sacrificing most other liberties just so I can be with a child, that is probably not going to be a fair trade.

My country has this annoying habit of enforcing its laws on anyone from here even if they do stuff in a foreign country; especially so-called sex tourism. So if I did this, I'd probably have to stay.
It's never so bad that it can't get worse.

I am not sure I understand the question.

If we are talking about sex tourism, I am not sure I feel comfortable supporting that. It gets messy pretty fast. Perhaps this is a discussion about the harms of sex tourism?

I would probably sell everything I own, leave everyone I know, learn a new language, and be pretty accepting of new culture and rules, all in exchange for living without AoC. I'd be willing to move there, and adopt or start a family of my own, and give back to the community. However, changing the law isn't enough for me. If some authoritarian regime gave me a pass to lure me there, or just legalized it without the support of the people, that's still a no. I don't want to raise a family in a community that despises me. I don't want to put the kids through that. Maybe if it was legalized in the country, but then a pedo-friendly city was created to allow people to live that lifestyle openly with support. If that city was in North Korea, um, put me down as a maybe.

There are countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Cambodia, some in Africa, etc that are pedo-friendly to say the least, though the cultural and language barrier is extreme compared to the west. Not many people would be willing to start a new life in places like that, just to have potential access to an underage partner. Even then, a lot of times in those countries you're supposed to get married first anyway. Anything else is just sex tourism, which is extremely risky.

I know people think this, but it's just not the the loophole you're imagining. In all of these places, actual child marriage is abnormal (NGOs call anyone under 18 a "child" to pad their stats). When it does happen, it's generally in rural areas with poor, desparate people. That's problem number one.

Problem number two is even more obvious: Even in places where they marry off children, they wouldn't marry them off to you. As I mentioned before, actual child marriage is an act of deperation in these countries, not a cultural norm. Islamic scholars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen will tell you that it's acceptable (because Aisha), but that doesn't make it common. Even in these far-flung places, people have enough information from the outside world to know they're in the minority (think how many Muslim countries DO have a mimimum marriage age of 18, despite a clear religious argument against that). When you add that all up, where does that leave you? A single, suspicious, Western convert who only talks about marrying nine-year-olds. I'm no oddsmaker, but that doesn't sound too favorable.

I've had some bad moments, and this is a rabbit hole I've gone  quite far down. But there just never seemed to be any evidence it could work. Despite all the pedophiles in the world, I never found any Western converts married to little Jasmines. Other countries (like Cambodia) are old news, and you're just as likely to get arrested there as in the West. I'm not proud to admit it, but I'd like you to prove me wrong. Sadly, the evidence just isn't there.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. Not that I would try it anyway, but never mind then.
