I'm not as familiar with the movies, but The Next Generation, as well as later series, definitely played on this a lot. They usually wouldn't quite get sexual though. A few years ago Orville did an episode where someone ran a pornographic scene in the holodeck, and did the old trope of if you download porn you get viruses, so they almost lost the ship. It reminds me a lot of when people say don't masturbate or you'll go blind. Or if you sleep with a prostitute you'll get diseases. Granted, the going blind thing is completely fake whereas infecting your computer or yourself is based in reality.

Holodeck tech never made any sense to me. I can't imagine ever having something like that. But we are just a few years away from AI CP being better than vintage CP in every way other than the taboo aspect. You can do VR porn, although I find 3D equipment quite annoying. The next major jump would be more like Westworld, having fully realistic androids, with programmable memories and personalities. That will create fully immersive fantasies, and being able to live out any experience you want. That's probably about 20 years away before it gets good enough. Finally, there will be full brain immersion, connecting directly to all the nerves and creating fully realistic experiences in VR. This will also allow for people to directly control the android bodies, and being able to live out your fantasies from within any body you want.

The future of porn is quite exciting. Now, if only we could stamp out pedophobia from society, so that we don't have to do all of this on the black market. Alas, society prefers hatred over solutions.

I think I could write for days about the on-topic implications of Star Trek holographic technology.
Just, you know; air gap the holodeck computer from the rest of the ship/space station so the crew isn't constantly losing control to some kind of holodeck malfunction.
Though if you're going to be held hostage by holographic characters, you could do a lot worse than having them be kiddy porn stars.

I tried to get into it in the past, but I find it boring. I am not sexually attracted to AI. 3D characters aren't even accurate and always look cartoony no matter how much they try to make it look more real, it still looks cartoony. I only watch real CP since I like girls. I would only use AI like Replika to voice talk when I have no one to talk to. It's nothing sexual.
