Quote from: TheVillain on 28 July, 2024, 15:14:41I support free healthcare and education for everyone.
I support the government not sticking their nose into people's lives, unless they want them to.
I support the institution of family, very strongly. Be that a pedo family, a homo family, an atheistic family or a religious one, however it may be.
I support financial aid by the gov for those who need it.
I support few or no taxes for small businesses.
I support a MIXED economy where private and state business can coexist.

Just a few topics to say
- How the heck can I come to a group of people strongly right OR strongly left and manage to even tolerate being in the same party as them? And likewise, how can either of them tolerate ME?
In some areas, I may be viewed as a diehard socialist, while in other areas, as a diehard conservative... just like cplover15m said. Or, kinda.

You know what, forget the political compass. I'll just sit and wait until the book of definitions of what is right and what is left is updated, or even completely destroyed, before I really put my faith and any dedication at all into democracy again.

Sums it up for me basically.

I agree with you. In fact, I don't think anyone with their sane mind would and should support either side of extremism. Politic-focused individuals should be concerned whether they lean more towards the center, not the ends.

Left or right? More importantly when, where, and why should we choose one way or the other. If we're talking in terms of economics I've come to the point that I'll accept whatever can be demonstrated to work with whatever issue is at hand at a given time and place and the competency of the personnel responsible for dealing with it all. I'm socially on the more conservative side, which I guess by most metrics is the biggest factor in making me more right wing than not. But I find modern political dichotomies to be silly and too divisive, I've found it much more useful to see if the persons in power (or in the process of getting in power) are good natured, competent, and strong in spirit and mind. When such people are in positions of power that's when we can finally have some good things going on that are of essence.

As to your other questions OP, starting with supporting left wing groups in one place and right wing in another, what I said above applies. But I can't say that I "support" any groups in other places of the world because whether I do or not will not really change anything, for neither me or them. I try to support the good people in my place, and extend my well-wishes to good people's elsewhere.

Just teaching her CPR

In my country, it was a right-wing bible-bashing type who made simple possession of CP illegal and it was a feminist left-wing type who changed the legal definition of "rape" from sex without consent to any act, no matter how innocuous, without (legally valid) consent, if it's perceived as lewd by the authorities.

So, I kinda dislike both. I really lack any political hopes whatsoever. I tend to vote libertarian for the simple reason that those tend to steal from the people the least, but they have never won anything major here 😕

Like most people, I write with my right hand. I don't want to get in an argument over it, it's just simple statistics. Look it up! The world isn't friendly to left handed people. Want to stretch your mind, try something new? switching your mouse to your left hand. It's actually exhausting.

Some people like to think that left handed people are more creative, but that's total BS. The lefties I know are just like the rest of us. Also, that whole right vs left hemisphere thing is mostly untrue. Just like the whole "we only use 10% of our brains" crap.
