I've been chatting back and forth in PMs with another member about books we enjoy, and it's been very interesting. Having noticed, here in the Off-Topic section, that there were at least two threads about gaming, we figured, "Why not books?"

These won't all be books about pedo themes, because there aren't very many. They'll be mostly fiction, of any kind. I hope those of you who enjoy reading will jump in! What have you been reading?

My first suggestion is:

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane by Laird Koen

Well, if you can't find a good pedo story, a story about a very mysterious tween or hebe is probably the next best thing. Rynn Jacobs, an English girl who has just relocated to America with her father, is celebrating her 13th birthday — all alone.  Mom is deceased, and Dad is nowhere to be seen. She lives in an old, cozy house, probably in New England, all by herself: her rent and finances have been taken care of in advance. She's very smart, and somewhat antisocial. She'd be very happy, living alone, if it weren't for the local pedo, who keeps trying to move on her.

But she does have one good friend: a teenage boy named Mario who is mildly crippled, and is not popular among "the cool kids:" he and Rynn become close, and finally even Do the Deed.

That's all I'll say . . . We won't discuss the sexual blackmail and murders.

(By the way: although it deals with kids, this is not a "Young Adult" book. Young Adult books can be very good, but this isn't one.)

It was made into a fine movie starring Jodie Foster, when she was only 13: the same year she made "Taxi Driver." Jodie Foster, at that age, was very interesting to people like us.

You know how children can grow so strange. I still adore you."

The Fisherman by John Langan

I would not be myself if I didn't started with some type of horror. The Fisherman is easily one of the best horror books out there, not a scary book but an actual horror one, I was a teen when I found this book and extremely fascinated by water, oceans, rivers and that which may dwell in it. So I read it three times in a roll, that's how fascinated I was by it's tale.

_______________________

The book is a multi-generational mystery with characters from both present and past trying to learn the ancient mystery of a region. And as the tale develops from this assortment very different characters from very distinct backgrounds and times, you will find yourself entangle in a incredible story of mourning, faith and the price of true knowledge.
This book will challenge your views on what's right and wrong a few times and all character are so extremely sympathetic you will fall in love with all of them and their tragic lives.

This book is also a good starter for those not used to cosmic horror and mystery novels. Since it is a slow burner that never ceases to be enthralling.

Unfortunately, the nude scene was done with a double (her sister if I remember correctly, but I might be wrong). But yes, a very nice movie.

As to books. I'm now reading "Tiger, tiger" by Margaux Fragoso. It's a memoir of her relationship with a pedophile (it started when she was 8, ended with his suicide 15 years later). Margaux died a few years ago (six or something) at 38.

Let me look at my list...

On-topic books I've read:

- Lolita (a classic)
- The Trauma Myth
- End Of Alice (I recommend that!)
- Their Little Girl (a short erotic story)

And others I plan to read one day... or just let me list file names. I keep on-topic books separate from my normal collection.

"Tiger, Tiger" is a beautiful book, an actual pedo story that depicts both partners enjoying each other. I'm delighted you're reading it.

In your "on-topic" list, I've read "Lolita," of course, and I consider Nabokov to be one of the finest writers of English (and one of the funniest) of the 20th century. This is fascinating, since he was Russian, and English was his third or fourth language.

I've also read "The End of Alice:" yikes, what a story! Not for the faint of heart!

I hope to get around to many of the others, thanks for the suggestions!

I've never heard about any of these books, but they do sound interesting. Tiger tiger sounds tragic, but I'm curious about it also.

Well, all of thebooks in the "Lolita" genre have a tragic element: if they were HEA stories (Happilty Ever After), they wouldn't get published, because our enemies control the publishing business, and they'll never admit that an intergen or MAP story can have a happy ending. But the ones mentioned so far in this thread are very much worth reading anyway.

I have a book on the shelf that I'll be discussing soon. It's very funny, has a happy ending (for the child, anyway), and turns "Lolita" on its head.

O Alienista or in English The Psychiatrist, although the English translation of the name is absolutely terrible since it does not truly explains the profession.

The book is written by someone many consider to be the greatest writer of the Portuguese language, Machado de Assis. This is a satirical story set during the colonial period of Brazil, a time where those considered psychologically unwell where alienated from society, such segregation was performed by alienists like our main character that seeking to perform his duties terrorizes a small township.

The book was written during the middle years of the Empire, 59 years after independence, so it's depictions of colonial life should not be taken as historical, but the story itself is worthy of being read.

This topic is a wonderful idea, thank you AlexUnder.

And thank-yous galore to all the recommendations that have been made so far!

Oh, definitely one should read, as Stalker pointed out:  Tiger, Tger by Margaux Fragoso.

I would add two of James R. Kincaid books:  (1) Erotic Innocence and (2) Child-loving: The erotic Child and Victorian Culture. Another book, which is a good overview of the history of hidden relationships between children and sexuality is George Rousseau (ed.) Children and Sexuality: From the Greeks to the Great War. One more from Floyd M. Martinson: The Sexual Life of Children.  It has been a while since I read these books (look to Amazon for overviews, or GoodReads).  Kincaid's books point out the characteristic hypocrisy (especially Erotic Innocence) that prevailing culture and society has towards child-loving as well as some of child-loving's dark-sides; he is extraordinarily insightful, witty and beings a literary tone to the non-fiction. And his tome on the Victorians is a real eye-opener.

In 2017 of ovarian cancer.

That's so tragic.

Thank you for the excellent recommendations, which I'll get to ASAP. But this thread wasn't my idea alone; Nyarla and I came up with it. I just wrote the OP!

Well, we are all indebted to both you AND Nyarla for thinking of and creating this idea.  Thank you both.

When I saw this scene, first thing I did was... well you know what I did ;) Then I actually read about it... and I felt betrayed :)

It is, but it triggers some strong emotions in me. I can handle them, but it takes time and energy, so I'm progressing slowly.

To be honest, I never understood the fascination with Nabokov's style. The story was great (and actually very sad), but I wasn't delighted with the writing style.

Definitely worth reading :)

I downloaded other books mentioned in this topic (I don't pay for anything even remotely pedo related, ever... including books and even innocent movies mentioned on the forum... I don't want to leave the money trail), I don't know when or if I will read them, but they're safe on my disk :)

The Childrem of Húrin Easly one of the best books ever written on the English language. And that's the language you should read it, trust me.

This is for me professor Tolkien at his best. This book is the greatest tale of a tragic hero I've ever read and it is one of most badass books out there, it tell us the story of Túrin, a self proclaimed master of fate, that cursed to misfortune and doom fights overwhelming odds against an unconquerable evil. The book is set during the incredible long first age of Middle Earth, many thousands of years before the Lord of The Rings Trilogy and can be read by itself.

Just a warning;
Don't go into this expecting a light reading, it's dark and sad.

There's a book that I read explicitly to be edgy from some 4chan /lit/ thread, Babyfucker, by Urs Alleman.

It's very short, extremely surrealist/abstract, and I found it quite relatable. It's pretty easy to find in ebook form, and I'd give it a wholehearted recommendation. It's well written, dripping in self loathing, and reads like something between a bad dream and a bad trip.
