There are 'some' people on this forum that think 'debate' means only hearing what you like to hear, and 'slapping' people when you don't. That's not debate. The one who likes to 'slap' is perhaps the worst of the worst and definitely gives the term 'pedo' it's most negative connotation. You know who you are.

I agree. I have never 'slapped' anyone on here, nor do I plan on doing it. I think it is best left to the moderators to punish members as they see necessary.

It would seem really odd if someone were to enter a debate with the mindset of not actually debating opposing views. Does that happen often here?

Also, I'm sure there are infinitely worse things a pedo could do to give the term its most negative connotation, than give you some kind of downvote.

I do not believe this thread to be relevant to me - I am not yet able to slap - however I do wish to respond to the following in a general sense:

I very much dislike this phrase. I have in the past been indirectly told about matters in such ways, where it only later dawned on me that the message may have been directed to me. Interpretations of events vary, and the person you assume must be aware of their actions may, in matter of fact, be unaware their actions bothered someone, and may not recognise their actions in the terms used to describe it. Worse still, these words may cause doubt in those it was not intended for. I, personally, believe straightforward honesty is the most practical - if not always the most pleasant - manner of resolving conflicts.

You have been slapped by multiple people multiple times, and us staff have been talked to by multiple people specifically about you and your conduct. It is not an individual. While you are nominally libertarian you have attacked entire groups of people for things that are not your business, and it has personally offended people. On the other hand, you have had people give you counter arguments and you've done nothing but ignore them, or moan about being slapped.

This post is extreme gaslighting and specifically fosters a negative atmosphere for the debate section. Since I've joined, these past three months have been the healthiest and most active I have seen the debate section. I can tell you what helps the debate section is when people make good faith efforts to respond to eachother, and you've done and awful job at this. I could post a half dozen instances of you making an argument attacking a class of people (e.g. LGBT, biraicial), and the instant someone makes an emotional but thorough response, you reply with something similar to this thread gaslighting them for not agreeing with you.

It's ironic that you make this thread accusing others of this. I will admit there are people now that are biased against you, but you've brought that upon yourself by bringing up knowingly controversial and hurtful viewpoints. Its not our job to protect your feelings. Calling out others for not participating fairly, when this section is so active and so often you're the one not replying in good faith, this is simple projection.

This is the debate section. People have different opinions than you, that's the point. Not everyone will agree with you, and maybe even nobody will. If you can't tolerate different opinions there's plenty of other places on the site.

It is not contrary to the rules of this section nor the forum to slap somebody who engages in insult and name-calling instead of conversation. I understand you and I are not the best of friends, but I promise you I try to be as impartial as I can be, and am sure other moderators do too. In fact I've recently had to take action against someone who was engaging in gratuitous insults against you.

If you believe a post goes against the principles of this community, you should use the report button, rather than make a fuss of it in public. I think this thread is not conducive to any debate nor constructive conversation, so I'm going to have to lock it.
