Never showered at school, always at home, and it never was a problem. Gym class was always at the end of the day. I also had pretty low self confidence, so I would have absolutely hated to have to shower with others.

After our first PE lesson, in the first week of big school (age 11), every boy showered naked. We were basically made to do so, by the teacher.

So there we were: about 30 schoolboys, all 11 years old, all naked in the shower together. This was a long communal shower, with maybe 10 nozzles on each side. It was hot and steamy. There was frolicking, larking about, spraying water at each other, etc. For me, it was not sexual, but I sure did enjoy being in that shower. On that day, I had no inhibitions, and neither did anyone else. Most of us were strangers to each other before joining that school, and it was an important moment of male bonding. The next week, the PE teacher didn't enforce his "must shower naked" policy, and a few boys chose to keep their shorts on in the shower. It wasn't the same atmosphere ever again. A month later, no one was showering naked any more: most didn't shower at all, and those who showered kept their shorts on. It stayed like that for the remaining years at school.

If I were gay, that shower experience would have been the best day ever. Being straight, the significance of that day to me was how it inflamed my imagination. My mind was obsessed with the thought of all my schoolgirl classmates having the same experience in their shower room. I thought about that A LOT. I pictured the female PE teacher in there, demanding and watching them all strip naked, and then the girls frolicking with each other, all hot and steamy, in their communal shower. I would dream up ways of sneaking into the girls changing room, drilling a hole in the wall, sneaking a camera in, turning myself into a fly, getting an invisibility cloak... anything, I so badly wanted to see those girls in that shower. It was my prime vision of a sexual fantasy for years afterwards. Naturally, I would extend it by imagining them washing each other, slapping each other's butts, comparing pussies, etc. I have had a thing for preteen girls frolicking in communal showers ever since.

As a gay guy, I wish that the first part of the experience that you did happened. I've seen some friends change through the years but it would have been interesting to see several. It's a shame it only seems like it was forced the first week. And that kids just stopped after it was started.

I don't think anyone should be forced to get naked. We weren't really forced. Everyone was just trying to fit in. The PE teacher was charismatic and cool, fit and masculine, in his 50s but faster and stronger than most of our dads. We wanted to impress him. No one wanted to become known as "the disgusting kid", after the teacher's passionate speech on hygiene. He would not have used force or threats of punishment. They weren't needed. The social pressure was enough, given the unique circumstances.

Clearly some boys didn't have such a positive experience from it as I did, because they kept their shorts on next week, while I was up for another fun naked shower session. My biggest concern was would I be able to stop thinking about the girls long enough to not get an erection while I was in the shower (knowing the girls were in their showers at the exact same time). Sure, I wish those boys had not shied out of getting naked with the rest of us, but I am glad they weren't made or felt pressured to do it against their will. The teacher could have entered the changing rooms again to give encouragement every week, but that wouldn't have worked for long, and it becomes bullying at some point. Teachers can't take that risk.

I think the reason it so quickly became taboo to shower naked at school is because in that second week, we knew each other a little better. The excitement and novelty was not so high. Cliques were forming. The male hierarchy was based on things like who can run fastest, or kick hardest, or jump furthest. Who had the biggest dick would definitely have been a major determinant, if the showers had continued. Dick size felt significant, even at that age, when we all had pretty small ones. So we all became self-conscious and inhibited.   The boys with the smallest dicks were or would have been mocked and bullied. It wasn't worth the risk. Then there was the fear of erections, which I presumed was universal. Boys did get teased if they had an erection while getting changed, so the culture was to cover up and change as quickly as possible. Those two factors - worrying about my relative dick size, and the fear of me getting erections - were why I stopped. I probably stopped the third week. From then on, worsening when puberty kicked in, I lived in some fear that the PE teacher might pressure us to get naked again, so I am thankful that he never did.

I rather feel the reality of shower rooms and locker rooms tends to be a lot different than fantasy. Or maybe at least does at my age or just the sports I play. I play on one all girls team and almost always most of us shower together after if the building we're at for the game has that option. The games are a bit intense and it is disgusting not too shower if at all possible. It isn't hot or sexy at all either. It frantically rinsing away sweat and yuck, depending on the game sometimes a bit of blood or a ton of icy hot.

By a bit of contrast I also play on a coed team and none of the boys shower. Ever. As a result I tend not to either at those games. Usually there are separate rooms for girls that play coed so most girls will change there then join their coed team in the locker room after they get dressed. I tend to just get changed in the boys locker room. That means changing down to a sports bra and compression shorts, which is way more than I would wear if we were going to a public pool, but some boys find this....exciting...hot...whatever....even though that part is literally not sexy at all and shows nothing that wouldn't already being showing if I were going swimming.

I constantly say yea we shower and there is always a boy asking if we touch each other and I always will be like no of course not....well, except when we need soap....or to soap each others backs....sometimes getting our legs lathered...you know. Sorry I ruined locker room shower dreams that way. There is still hope for those dreams though but on a way smaller scale. When I am sleeping over with a friend and we need to shower we often will do so together. Not for sexy reasons but because if we didn't only one of us would get hot water for the shower. It's then way closer and there might be soapy stuff for backs but also sadly for those dreams there is nothing hot or sexy in that either. Just hey there isn't enough room to move in here rub this on my back then I'll put some on yours so we can get back to using up every last bit of the hot water.

The utilitarian rationale for showering together is sometimes good enough for the fantasy.  The simple routine of lathering and rinsing is intriguing in of itself when it's a window into a normally private time for most people.  So to imagining someone you are attracted to getting all soapy under hot water with parts possibly giggling around just from normal, everyday washing; that can still be very arousing.

Sometimes it's not about imagining sexy hijinx.  It's more about the idea that this person or group of people are so attractive that watching them do something routine in the nude is still very interesting to think about or see.  That's part of the appeal of nudist content, in my opinion.  A window into a world that the viewer does not normally have access to whether that's a scene on a nude beach or a young person livestreaming their shower.  In a word, it's voyeurism.  The good kind where a person is willingly share a moment, and also the bad kind where people are filmed without their knowledge.  Both are tapping into this sense of peering into hidden moments.

In school we never showered in gym and I wasn't into any sports. I kind of wish I was in a culture where it was more common to do so. I always knew I liked boys so it would have been a THRILL to see my classmates naked. I do remember taking advantage of checking out other boys in public locker rooms at places like water parks and such. As a teen I would take my time getting changed so that I could look at other boys changing and pretend I was waiting for my dad or something so that I could linger a bit longer.

Hi, when I was a kid we had mandatory showers after gym class and the gym coach would supervise making sure we all washed. I did enjoy watching the other boys I have to admit some were beautiful.

We had swimming lessons in school at the age of 10-14. And it was mandatory to have a shower after the lesson.
At the beginning it was no problem. With 10 we did not care much about each other and just showered.
But with 11/12 it began to feel kind of uncomfortable. I played sex games with to friends and that age. But that pressure of not getting hard in the shower because of the gay comments where no fun. Also also these size discussions were annoying. Not that I was against comparisons. But that was no way sexual it was just a who is the best competition.

When I was in high school, showering after gym - fully naked, taking a real shower - was mandatory. You could only skip doing it once per semester without getting 3 demerits and 4 demerits was a detention, so they took it seriously.  I don't blame them, though.  Who wants sweaty post-gym teens stinking up history class?  For myself, I was in sports, so showering in the locker room was not really a problem for me.

I think my experience was similar to on the rocks, I was a towel kid because I was a late developer, so much so I felt very out of place around all those hairy dicks. I remember thinking at the time it was strange that the guys who had something to show, showed. And then the rest, well we were towel guys.

I hated showering in the lockers, for most of my childhood I was under the impression I was underdeveloped compared to the other boys, so I avoided it where possible (Luckily a few years later when I actually started having sex they corrected that misapprehension!)

I did have frequent fantasies about the other boys raping me in the locker room though. Unfortunately never happened
