The weather here in Asia is getting unbearably hot this year.
The summers used to be hot. But never this hot.
How do Americans feel about hot weather in their country?
Is it more difficult for you to tolerate high temperatures? Or it's the same for you?

Come, Let's sit in the shade. This shade is no one's property.
Love me. And ponder for a bit.

Welcome to the new normal, brother.
Canada's looking better and better each year. :P
It's never so bad that it can't get worse.

Dry heat is ok since you can cool off more easily but humid heat is sooo annoying.

There's a beautiful German song about what we're experiencing, and about the cure. Lyrics can be found on the net and translated...

I take that back.  Canada keeps catching on fire. :P

You know, if I was a soothsayer, I'd be having a field day these last few months or so.  Look at all these signs of the "apocalypse" you could point to; especially for an American audience.
Sun blotted out by smoke.
War in the holy land.
Solar eclipse.
Massive aurora event visible in nearly every state.
Enormous plague of cicadas about to overtake a third of the country.

If this all happened to us back when we didn't know where the sun went at night, everyone would be freaking out!

Yes, the apocalypse. You know what's interesting? Mankind has gone through such things many times in history, even within a christian time frame, and yet we're still here... and yet jesus hasn't come.... (contains irony)
You gotta give those stories some props tho. Maybe the whole Ark thing where it rained so so much the entire known world (which could very well be just a small region for those writing the story) was just a huge flooding... Maybe that actually happened, just in a less poetical way.

on the rocks

Many archeologist agree the root of the Noah flood myth could be rooted in the flooding of the Black Sea at the end of the last ice age.  As melting ice rose sea levels, eventually they got high enough to spill over the Bosporus Straight in Istanbul into what had previously been a freshwater lake.  We know this happened because of geological and fossil evidence; there was a sudden and dramatic change from a freshwater ecosystem with a much lower shoreline into the modern saline arm of the ocean near its present level. The coastal plain of this lake was no doubt inhabited by thousands and thousands of humans 10,000 years ago when this all went down. To them, their whole world literally would have flooded since most would spend their entire lives in the area that was inundated.  And that's a story that would no doubt get spread and passed down thru the generations, and later co-opted by authors of the Bible and the Epic of Gilgamesh.

They'd just sacrifice some virgin or burn some witches.

I hope the mob doesn't start burning us for the same reason... maybe I'll eat some popcorn kernels beforehand so at least they'll have a show.

Hm, I don't know about you but it's mid May and the snow just vanished. :snowman
It's 12°C outside and not getting much warmer. Gotta love the north :3

:P
And I was alone yet not lonely because in my heart there was the energy of that one girl who means more to me than any human being ever did before.

I can't deal with extreme heat and if you add humidity, forget it. If I was forced to choose I'd probably go for cold. Fortunately where I'm located, the weather has been pretty decent so far.
