Title: Thoughts about the Furry Fandom
Post by: on 02 June, 2024, 17:25:16
Hej :wave

It sure has been a while since I last started a topic so here we go. As of recent I've had quite a few occasions where content from the furryverse touched on my life, mostly on Twitter. So I dug a bit into it because, just like us, they receive a lot of hate and I wanted to see if it's justified at all and especially due to the zoophilia debate inside of the fandom recently I was thrilled to do my digging. And what can I say; I wholeheartedly support these people. They are a loving and fluffy bunch and only due to a few low-hanging fruit they are being hated - sounds familiar, eh?

Curious to hear your thoughts. Personally I found quite a few parallels to our realm on their "island".
:P

These are the folks that dress up like animals and stuff?  But it's not necessarily sexual.  Unless it totally is.  Anyway, it always seems to be implied that it's sexual when they get made fun of. :think

But then I also know "furry" as a subset of drawn/rendered erotica featuring fuzzy creatures of varying degrees of anthropomorphism.  Akin to hentai or lolicon.

I have to assume there's some overlap between those two, but probably not totally?

Furry is 100% a sexual thing.

I don't mind them, to each their own.
Hating on furries is so 2003... might as well start raging against emos as well.

It's a plague on our society corrupting the youth!!!

:cool3 :mob :bat

Just kidding, people can do what they want. Generally not my thing but I've run across "cub threads" on the chans and it's cute.

Just like anything, most people are totally fine but there are always a few bad apples. I don't know much about furries myself, but I would never do it because I'd get too damn hot in those fursuits! They also must be hard to wash! But I'm totally fine with folks indulging alternative interests;.

This is a subject that is in different social circles, it is very common among those who like anime and hentai but it has become a topic of onlyfans, in the past furry was associated with bestiality in the West but I believe that this has changed.

Furry brings elements from the world of anime and manga and therefore draws a line between people who like zoos or groups who like to dress up as animals without anime elements. We have the famous little ears, anal plugs with tails, kitten and puppy behaviors. It is very far from the zoo world, but I think it helps the zoo community.

It is common for someone to like Furry and not like Zoo, after all they like hybrid characteristics but of course this can lead to exploring a Zoo spectrum, maybe that is why they suffer prejudice, imagine a couple formed by two brothers, they practice incest and it does not mean being pedo, however other people outside the communities will associate incest with pedo practice, using arguments of age, exposure to sex, in this case the antis use pedo as a heavy tool to beat people, the same happens with Furry, they realize that people are becoming adept at Furry or accepting its practice by other people so they will associate it with the Zoo practice, they will do the same as they do with pedo, they will only select cases where there is abuse and put it in the media.

I see things changing for the Furry and Zoo communities, there is a lot of prejudice but there is an environment where they can meet other people who like it and thus form open communities, Furry has gained strength with younger social networks and channels like onlyfans, and is riding on the success of hentai that is always present among the manga and anime audience.

I see that something is happening on a more timid level with pedo, Lolita and Shota communities are now more frequent, hentai forums with many humorous associations with pedo have also become common again, the laws may not change, the precociousness on the part of many may not change, but if generations are changing the way they see relationships and sex, many things can be discussed.

I don't have an opinion.

I mean, if they don't hurt anyone and they're just weird (from my perspective), then I have no issue with them. Weird people are generally more interesting than the grey mass, even if this particular weirdness doesn't really interest me (I mean, it does, but only to understand what's going on in their heads).

I just don't understand the phenomena (but maybe I don't have to). It would be easier if it was sexually motivated (then I'd understand them just like I understand all other fetishists and pervs, even if they're attracted to things I'm not), but they claim it isn't sexual (or at least isn't always).

So it's a bunch of grown up men (maybe women too) dressing like animals, assuming an animal persona (fursona), investing their time into developing this fursona (for example paying people to draw it with great level of details), and generally living as a half-animal, half-man, right?

If it's not sexually motivated then I really don't get it. But I noticed that many are autistic, and I don't understand many autistic things. And again, maybe I don't have to.

They have their own world in their heads, which they bring into reality. It's like I'm convinced I was born in the wrong body :lol.
For me personally, it's impressive - they make sounds identical to the animals they are, they perform animal movements seemingly impossible for humans. When I see a young girl jumping 1.5 meters and landing with all the weight on her front paws, it's great for me. Normally the physiology of the human body does not allow this, a normal person would break their arms, but they do it and have a lot of fun. Excellent.

Yeah, I read a report about a man who made a dog costume, I don't think it's anything related to Furry but he dresses completely like a dog and trains like a dog, running and jumping.

I'm mildly interested in furry, but only the ones that looks most like human. It's kinda weird for me to see people shipping Zootopia characters in a sexual way.

However, if it's in general and not just the sexual aspect of it, then I don't think furries deserve the hate, man. They're quite a horny but friendly bunch.

In addition to being friendly, most of the people I've met outside of the pedo environment who enjoy experiencing furry animation have softer opinions on pedophilia, where many talk about loli & shota from a 2D point of view, but in my opinion it's just a way of talking about pedo without talking about pedo lol

That's super interesting.  Potential allies!   Maybe we're forming our own LGBT... constellation.  We have P's and F's; we need a few more letter.
